Alright, to clarify a thing or two...
The race will be a mass start in the big pool above Ledge hole, and will continue down through Ramshorn, Maytag, Son of Maytag, and finish below the footbridge at Rocky Rest. 5 miles. Take-out access is not far below.
About two hours later, the Maytag Throwdown. This gives people time to go put-in again and float down, or just walk down with their "Most Creative Flotation Device." This does not mean a PFD!!! What this does mean is, riverboard, pool toy, whatever, get creative. Nobody can partake in our event without a PFD and Helmet.
The awards and party will take place at the registration location, Indian Valley Campground. Dinner, Beer, and Music...........
Everyone is encouraged to stay in the area. Many of the campgrounds will not be officially open yet, so services will be limited, but it should be easy.
The Banff Film Festival will be in town all weekend too, worth getting a ticket and coming out Friday night.
Look forward to seeing everyone there- kick off the season party!

The Lowdown:

With hopes of reliving the excitement of the 2008 North Fork American Race, we have put together a race on the North Yuba. Completely road accessible, with several Class IV's, Goodyears will be a great section to race. Following the downriver race, there will be a "throw down" at Maytag rapid. There will be various prize categories for this event including; Best Beat Down, Most Creative Flotation, and best Rodeo Style by a kayaker. Although there will be prizes, this race is just for fun!!
After the race there will be a BBQ w/ music and such. Everyone is encouraged to stay the night and enjoy what the area has to offer Sunday as well.
